SACE-endorsed courses for the CPTD System (Continuing Professional Teacher Development)

Since a professional development programme is currently being introduced to school management teams and teachers by SACE (the South African Council of Educators), Jika is currently aligning relevant courses to meet SACE criteria in order to support educators and educational leaders in earning professional development points.

Entrepreneurship Education

ILO-designed games, videos and simulations are used to train young, unemployed youth in entrepreneurship and also to train trainers to sustain the process. A kit is available to send new trainers on their way.

Tailor-made ETDP SETA-accredited courses and learnerships for corporate and individual professional development

Currently 13 ETDP SETA-accredited short courses are available for the public and private sectors and for individuals. Courses can be presented in situ or at the Jika Hub at 80 Donald Murray Avenue, Park West, Bloemfontein.

ECD support programme

Over 200 children are visited twice weekly at their nursery schools by retired experienced teachers who read stories to them, teach them traditional rhymes and enrich themes taking place in the nursery school classrooms.

A full-time ECD qualification (level 4 and 5) will be offered once a learnership has been approved.
